First of all,
updating your wifi name and password on the GoPro is not as easy as it should be. But here are a few simple steps you can take, using the GoPro App to change your
WiFi settings:
There are a few slight differences between iOS and Android so make sure you check your phone's operating system first if you're not sure what it's running.
Test question 1: Does your phone look like this?
- Yes! --> Follow the iOS instuctions.
- No! --> Follow the Android instructions
Test question 2: Do you have a Nokia?
- Yes! --> Follow the windows-phone instructions
- No! --> Then you probably have a blackberry in which case you're screwed anyway...
GoPro Hero 3+: Changing your WiFi password
GoPro WiFi password: iOS Instructions
Step 1: After connecting to the camera, press the wrench icon to open the Settings menu.
Step 2: In Settings, locate the Wi-Fi Network section. Press Name Name to open this setting.
Step 3: You now have the option to change the Wi-Fi network Name or Password. Once complete, click Apply Changes.
Step 4: Select "Go for it!"
Step 5: The change is now complete. You just need to go back to your device's Wi-Fi setting and reconnect.
GoPro WiFi password: Android Instructions
Step 1: After connecting to the camera, press the wrench icon to open the Settings menu.
Step 2: In Settings, locate the Wi-Fi Network section. Press Name or Version to open this setting.
Step 3: You now have the
option to change the Wi-Fi Name or Password. Once complete, click Apply
Changes. You will receive a temporary message on the screen that
states: "Wi-Fi configuration updated".
GoPro WiFi password: Windows Phone Instructions
Step 1: Select the Settings button. The Settings button is the three dots in the lower right hand corner.
Step 2: Select "Settings".
Step 3: Scroll down to the Wi-Fi Settings and tap "change name and password".
Step 4: Create new network name and password.

Step 5: Reconnect to the camera's new Wi-Fi network.
Step 6: Confirm that you are connected successfully.

Your password must be at least 8 characters. It can contain the
following characters: Lower and upper-case letters, numbers 0-9, at
symbol "@", dash "-", and underscore "_".
